According to a recent study, you’re 42% more likely to achieve your goals if you write them down.  Now, here’s another fact. 2019 is more than halfway over. Even crazier is that before you know it, Christmas bells will be ringing!

The year-end shindigs might feel far off (especially if you’re cranking the A.C. right now), but thoughts of Christmas songs and Black Friday sales can be an important reminderto check in with your business, take inventory, and make a plan for where you want to go in the next six months.

Today let’s take a break from heat waves and bring in a little bit of winter fun, and do something productive for your business while we’re at it!  Let’s create a Christmas (In July) wish list for your business!

They say “a goal without a plan is just a wish.”  So we’re going to do more than make wishes and set goals. We’re going to take the excitement of a wish, give it the intention of a goal, and put a plan down on paper to bring it to life!  Grab a pen and paper, and bring on the holiday music and Hallmark movies!  We’ve got 5 steps to help you create Christmas magic in July–magic that’ll pay off big-time when the holidays arrive!

Step #1: Where do you stand right now?  Take an honest look at your business.  Overall, where do you stand?  Think about things like finances, creativity, productivity, or anything that comes to mind.  Get real about what’s working and what’s not.

Step #2: Where do you want to be six months from now?  Take a moment to review what you wrote.  What are your most pressing items that need attention?  Think of what you already have accomplished and what you have yet to do.  Then write out your 3 to 5 priority wishes for the rest of 2019.

Step #3: What do you need to get there?  Now that you know what you want to have, let’s get practical.  What do you need in order to have what you want six months from now?  Maybe you’re in need of a financial advisor or a business coach.  It could be a bookkeeper or an accountant that would help you get on track or look at your bottom line.  Maybe it’s getting a little more support with those extra tasks from a Virtual Assistant.  No matter what you desire, don’t be shy. Ask for it.  Then get serious what it would take to make it happen.

Step #4: Make your wish list!  Remember the statistic we talked about at the beginning?  Now is the time to use it to your advantage!  If you want to up your chances of getting what you want for Christmas by 42%, write your wishes down!  Make that ultimate wish list, and make it count!  Think of it as not only a wishlist but also a future vision.  Focus on how exciting it would be to have what you wish for NOW.

Step 5: Take action today for a Merry Christmas in December!  Look at your list.  Choose the wish that calls to you the most right now.  Then, decide on one small step you can take toward that wish today.  Then, take action as soon as you can!

Remember, Christmas might seem far away, but it’s coming.  Before you know it, another year will be in the books.  So decide what you want for the rest of this year, write it down, and one small step today!

Now, what is one item on your Business Wishlist that stands out for you?  Leave a comment and share your biggest Christmas wish for your business, and tell us what small action step you will take today to get there by December!
